Another comfort food converted! These Turkey Sloppy Joes are a delicious, high-protein meal that supports muscle maintenance, boosts metabolism, and keeps you feeling full longer. They’re a smart choice for anyone focused on body composition. Add a side salad and you’ve got a satisfying, balanced meal that hits your goals without sacrificing flavor!

 

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz 93/7 ground turkey
  • 1/4 large yellow onion, grated
  • 1/3 large green bell pepper, minced
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup low sugar ketchup
  • 1/3 cup low sugar barbecue sauce
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

 

Instructions:

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground turkey, onion, and bell pepper until the turkey is no longer pink and the vegetables are tender. Add the seasonings and combine. Stir in the mustard, ketchup, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar and tomato paste. Stir together until the sauce has thickened. Spoon the turkey mixture onto multi-grain hamburger buns and serve hot.
