Recipe of the Month: Healthy Holiday Nog
Want to enjoy the seasonal flavors of egg nog in a healthier way? Try this protein packed healthy holiday nog smoothie!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Califia Farms Almond Milk Holiday Nog
- 1 scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder
- 1-2 tbsp chia seeds (personal preference)
- Dash of ground cinnamon
- Dash of ground nutmeg
- Handful or 2 of ice (personal preference)
Optional add-ins:
½ or 1 frozen banana (for potassium and to add creaminess) OR ½-1 cup riced cauliflower (lower calorie way to add creaminess and fiber without a lot of calories)
1-2 tbsp flaxseeds (to add fiber and omega-3)
Directions:
Put all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a cup and sprinkle a little more cinnamon and nutmeg on top. Enjoy!
