Turkey chili is perfect to warm up in a heart healthy – and delicious – way! This recipe is so simple to make and satisfying to eat – use it for family dinners or to feed a crowd. Enjoy!Ingredients:
2 tbsp olive or avocado oil
1/2 bell pepper, diced
1 tbsp garlic, minced
1 lb 93% lean ground turkey
2 cups chicken bone broth
14 oz canned diced tomatoes
4½ oz canned chopped green chiles (we like it Hot but you can use Mild)
6 oz tomato paste
2 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tbsp dried oregano
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
Instructions:Add oil to a large soup pot and heat to medium-high heat. Once hot, add bell pepper. Sauté until soft, approximately 3 minutes. Ada minced garlic and sauté until golden, about 1 minute. Add the ground turkey, using a spatula to crumble it. Sauté the meat, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink. Add in all other ingredients. Stir to combine. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes. Taste & add extra salt or seasonings if desired. Serve – and top with your favorite toppings (I like a spoonful of nonfat Greek yogurt on top, my husband prefers sour cream shredded cheddar cheese).Nutrition Information per serving (makes 8 servings): values may vary depending on products/brands235 calories18g protein17g carbs12g fat
